One family. Three distinct disciplines.
Hilbert København is a family-run goldsmith workshop founded by Morten Hilbert in Copenhagen in 1999. Today, Morten, Villy and Solvej work together across generations, traditional goldsmithing, precision and modern jewellery design.
We work closely together throughout the process, from the first idea and 3D drawing to materials, making, stone setting and the final finish. Our shared aim is to create jewellery that can be worn, loved and passed on.
Goldsmith and founder
Morten Hilbert
Morten began his goldsmith apprenticeship in 1992 and founded Hilbert København in 1999. He has been a member of Kjøbenhavns Guldsmedelaug since 2002 and has worked with gold, silver, diamonds and coloured gemstones for more than three decades.
His work is rooted in traditional goldsmithing, strong material knowledge and close dialogue with each client. He has also completed professional training in synthetic diamonds, supporting informed guidance on natural and laboratory-grown stones.
Goldsmith and precision mechanic
Villy Hilbert
Villy first trained as a precision mechanic and later completed his goldsmith apprenticeship at Hilbert København. This combination gives him an exceptional eye for measurements, tolerances, construction and movement, skills he applies to making, repairs and stone setting.
He received a bronze medal for an especially strong performance in his 2024 apprenticeship examination. He has since completed a five-day classical stone setting course focused on traditional setting techniques.
Jewellery designer and Brand Lead
Solvej Hilbert
Solvej holds a bachelor's degree in Jewellery, Technology and Business and works with design development, 3D drawing, visual direction, the webshop and the overall brand expression.
As part of her education, she spent six months with Dior's jewellery producer in Germany, gaining insight into jewellery development and production at an international level.
She connects the workshop's traditional craftsmanship with digital tools that make it possible to develop, visualise and present new jewellery with precision.
